What’s up in Blenheim?
In an industry dominated by males, Blenheim stands out as the exception to the rule. How has a small branch end up with 4 determined ladies, willing to take on the boys?
When TRL purchased Vent Mechanical in 2020, Steph was already involved in all the day to day branch workings, having prepared all the accounts and invoices. The step up to Branch Manager was a natural step but not one she took lightly.
“I was nervous about stepping into a male dominated industry” confessed Steph. She has enjoyed her time in this role and especially all the support from Mike and those in the other branches who have all helped greatly. Shortly afterwards Tori and Kayla came on board in roles also often dominated by the boys.
Tori spent much of her life around farms and farm machinery but had a stint in a Newmarket car dealership in Auckland, whereas Kayla had proven herself in a local parts company and was looking for that next challenge.
In January Shavaughn had put her application in for an apprentice role and she was chosen as, hands down, the best candidate alongside of more experienced applications.
“We are really excited by what this team brings to the company and we are expecting some great results in the near future “says Mike Webster – Regional Manager.
