James Wood

If there’s a TRL branch that needs support, there’s a good chance James is already on his way there, although he prefers travelling by road rather than air. With a strong focus on compliance, workplace safety, and people management, James plays a vital role in helping TRL operate safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards.

Before moving into Human Resources and Health & Safety, James spent more than a decade working in the motor industry, giving him a practical understanding of the challenges faced by our teams on the workshop floor. He later retrained in HR and Health & Safety, combining industry experience with specialist expertise to support both our people and our business.

Today, James leads TRL’s Health & Safety programme, driving a positive safety culture across all branches and ensuring our teams have the tools, training, and support they need to work safely. He also oversees Human Resources, covering recruitment, employee development, and workplace wellbeing.
