Workshop Foreman - Dunedin

We are the Cummins Engine Dealer for Marlborough, Otago and Southland, we are a SouthPac Trucks Ltd Dealer, supporting the premier brands of DAF, Kenworth and TRP products in Marlborough, Canterbury, Central Otago and Southland. Our workshops are modern, with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, including the latest diagnostic tools. Our parts department provide diverse products and high stock turn over, leading the industry. We support the road transport industry, are growing rapidly, and we are part of the Dynes Transport and HW Richardson Group.

The Job Transport Repairs are in search for a workshop foreman to come join our busy workshop, this may also suit someone that is working as a diesel mechanic and is looking to take the next step.

We are willing to pay up to $5000 for each new qualified auto electrician or diesel mechanic we hire as a "sign on payment". Due to operational requirements, we are looking for a full-time workshop foreman for our Dunedin workshop.

Working closely with the Service Manager , you will be responsible for managing the day to day running of service jobs, ensuring deadlines and quality control standards are met and customer expectations are exceeded.

You will:

Assist the Service Manager by managing the day to day running of jobs. Ensure deadlines and quality control standards are met. Understand and have the ability to optimise workshop productivity and efficiency. Demonstrate professionalism, a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Have reasonable computer skills. Have the ability to think on your feet and multitask. Be a hands-on leader who is prepared to help in the workshop. And most importantly you will be a fantastic communicator both with co-workers and with our customers.

Skills & Experience

You will have: NZ Level 4 or overseas equivalent auto qualification Good time management Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team when required Excellent verbal & written communication skills Great diagnostic skills with the ability to ‘think on your feet’ and ‘problem solve’ Positive, can-do attitude A passion for providing excellent customer service, & ‘getting it right first time’ Full drivers license Be a New Zealand Citizen or have a Current Working Visa
