TRL Apprentice Of The Year 2025

A huge congratulations to Cromwell’s own Mac Emeny on being named the 2025 Apprentice of the Year and receiving the Samuel Scott Trophy.

Mac was nominated for this prestigious award in recognition of the outstanding standard he consistently demonstrates across all areas of his apprenticeship. He first joined Transport Repairs as an after-school worker, sweeping floors and emptying bins, and has since grown into an exceptional apprentice and valued member of the team.

His passion for the heavy automotive industry is evident in his strong work ethic, quality workmanship, and keen attention to detail. Whether it’s the pride he takes in every job, the support he provides to his teammates, or the trucking magazines he reads during breaks and the posters on his walls at home, Mac’s commitment to the industry is clear.

Mac is dedicated to delivering high-quality work and actively promotes workplace health and safety. He has also maintained an excellent standard in his studies through Otago Polytechnic, approaching block courses with a positive, proactive attitude to learning.

With his qualification as a heavy diesel mechanic just around the corner next week, this achievement is well deserved.
